Here at Camp Mardela, we have many facilities that are used during our summer program, and with rental groups! Here is a list of all of the activities and facilities Camp Mardela has to offer for your next stay with us!

BUILDINGS

KING RETREAT CENTER

King Retreat Center can be rented throughout the year. This winterized building has all the amenities found at home! Click the link in the title to see what King Retreat Center has to offer:

KRABILL DINING HALL

This building has dining tables and chairs, as well as a fully equipped commercial kitchen, bathrooms, and various other indoor activities. It seats 200-300 people.

This hall is well used and well loved by our campers, but can also be rented for use by retreat groups during the spring, summer, fall, and winter when it is not being used for camp programs. This hall now has heat and air-conditioning and can be used year-round.

Hall only OR Kitchen only - $250/day OR $50/hour

Hall & Kitchen Bundle - $350/day OR $65/hour

PAVILION

This pavilion has a kitchen, bathrooms, a stage, a Kevlar curtain that is used for archery, a volleyball court, a softball field, a playground and its own parking lot, so it is complete with all the things you may need for a picnic or other outdoor events. This area is used for camp programs, but can be rented during the spring, summer, and fall when camp programs are not active. It seats about 100-125. This building is not suitable for cold weather.

Pavilion Area & Kitchen - $125/day OR $25/hour

Pavilion Area ONLY - $75/day OR $15/hour

CABINS

Our cabins are primarily used during our summer camping season. When you come for a week of camp, these will be your home! Camp Mardela has 6 cinderblock cabins that sleep 10 each in traditional camp bunks, electric and air conditioning. Bedding is not provided. There are 3 cabins located on either side of the bathhouse.

These cabins can be rented during the spring, summer, and fall, but are not suitable for cold weather retreats.

$75/night/cabin

CRAFT HOUSE

The craft house is stocked with supplies for various activities for campers to do during the summer. This building also houses fishing supplies. Just look for the door on the outside of the building with a paddle on it. This building may be rented by retreat groups, but the craft supplies are reserved for use by summer camps, and some equipment can be used upon request. This building has electric, fans, and running water, but it is not winterized and is not suitable for cold weather retreats.

NATURE LODGE

A BRAND NEW addition to Camp Mardela's buildings in 2022, this Nature Lodge is fully equipped with microscopes, telescopes, binoculars, nature and science books, nature displays, fish tanks and more! This equipment is available for use upon request. This building has 7 fold-down tables, 7 rolling benches, 2 white boards, and air conditioning, this space is the perfect educational space for groups who want to learn while they are at camp!

$75/day OR $15/hour

OUTDOOR AREAS

CAMP SITES

If you prefer to enjoy the great outdoors from your own RV or tent, you can stay with us on our camping sites! Located across from the basketball court, we have 10 sites available for rent, complete with electric and water hook-ups, a fire circle, and a small playground.

RV - $30/site/night

Tent - $15/tent/night

PRIMITIVE SITES

These sites are primarily used for the Outdoor Adventures Camp. They were built courtesy of our local boy scouts, and they were certainly built with quality in mind! There are four tent pads, a small pavilion with picnic tables, and a full service fire circle with benches! This is tucked back in the woods in between the pavilion and the swimming pond, and is the perfect spot to spend some time secluded in nature.

Tent - $15/tent/night

SWIMMING POND

This spring-fed swimming pond is just as fun as it looks! Complete with a floating dock, steps for the shallow end, a wooden deck, this is a feature attraction here at Camp Mardela. With depth ranging from 2 feet to 6 feet, swimmers of all ages and swimming levels can enjoy this natural pool in the woods. Lifeguarding staff is on duty during summer camp and for rentals upon request. 1 lifeguard can be used for a group of up to 50 swimmers. The pond is emptied every year, and refilled for the spring and summer seasons.

Swimming & Fishing Pond Bundle - $30/day OR $5/hour

Lifeguard Supervision (required for swimming) - $25/hour

WATT'S CREEK

Camp Mardela is along Watts Creek, that leads to the Choptank River and flows to the Chesapeake Bay. This tidal creek is unique as its current and depth changes throughout the day. There are no raging rapids or racing currents, but this is a peaceful place to canoe or kayak. We have 8 canoes and 16 kayaks with life jackets and paddles. Campers can use these facilities during camp with the supervision of lifeguards and boating instructors. Lifeguards and boating instructors can be provided upon request for rental groups. Boats can be used for up to 6 hours.

FISHING POND

Come try your luck at Camp Mardela's own fishing pond. In order to keep the pond fun and enjoyable (and to keep the fish from getting lonely!) we have a catch and release policy for the fishing pond. Use of the fishing pond is free to groups renting other areas of the camp. They must bring their own gear in order to preserve the camp's gear for summer programs. Camp Mardela does provide rods and tackle during our summer programs, but rental groups may bring their own.

Swimming & Fishing Pond Bundle - $30/day OR $5/hour

HIKING TRAILS

We have several trails that span across the borders of our property, with many hidden treasures to find along the way. You can come for a day to hike the trails with your friends, or stay with us for a weekend or a week of camp in the summer to see how many natural wonders you can discover here at Camp Mardela! If you would like to use the trails and you are not renting the camp or here as part of a program or event, simply call or email the camp office so we know you are planning on visiting us.

CHAPEL AREAS

These areas are the heartbeat of the ministry of camp. During camp programs, campers will attend Morning Watch, Bible Class, and Vespers daily, and will use our 2 outdoor chapel areas during these times. Rental groups are free to use these areas as well. If you would like to use the chapels and you are not renting the camp or here as part of a program or event, simply call or email the camp office so we know you are planning on visiting us.

FIRE CIRCLES

What is camp without a campfire!? Luckily, we have 5 permanent fire circles scattered throughout camp (cabins, RV sites, outdoor chapel, pavilion, picnic point). During summer camp, campers will have at least 1 camp fire each week. Rental groups are free to use any fire circle. We ask that all fires made at camp are contained in a fire circle, and please let the administrator know if you need any alternative accommodations.

SPORTS & GAMES

PLAYGROUNDS

One playground is located at our pavilion area, and the other is located between King Retreat Center and Krabill Hall. Both include swings, slides, and climbing areas. The playground by the Retreat Center also includes a merry-go-round. Adult supervision is strongly recommended for use of the playground equipment, especially the merry-go-round. For adults supervising, you can relax on the granny swings by the Retreat Center! There is no shortage of fun for kids of all ages here at these playgrounds!
