Camp Mardela’s swimming pond is a man made, spring fed pond located a short walking distance from the main camp ground.
The pond’s sandy bottom slopes gradually from about 6″ deep to a maximum depth of approximately 5.5′.
Because of its shallow depth and gradual slopes, the pond can provide great fun for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. Benches and picnic tables line the shore, and the pier and floating dock offer addition space for the land-lubbers and sunbathers.
Camp Mardela’s swimming pond is open to all groups renting the camp between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Groups wishing to use the pond must inform the administrator in advance, and must fill out a water safety agreement, which outlines the rules and regulations of pond use.
If the rules of the water safety agreement are not strictly followed at all times, pond privileges will be revoked for the remainder of the rental period. For more information, view our Rental Policies and Procedures.
